    Sexing Cream legbar

@EmJayne7 those are not pure legbars. Hens can store sperm for a month and I've thrown chicks from a rooster even 6 weeks later.

    Sexing Cream legbar

Wow I definitely would've thought that was a boy too! I know you can also lose the sexing ability if you don't breed the ones that's are clearly differentiated and not breed the ones that are harder to sex. Didn't realize there was a new line

    Sexing Cream legbar

Sorry, I'm asking a question that's been asked a million times. I feel that I'd be too lucky to get 3/3 pullets in my hatch. Both have defined chipmunk stripes but the darker chick has a tiny yellow dot on its head and the lighter chick doesn't have much "eyeliner" or a super defined V on the...

    Puppy pen brooder

I got one off Amazon and one on a local fb yardsale page. If you do more than 8 chicks you'll need a really big one about 48"

    Puppy pen brooder

I have these pop up puppy pens and love using them for raising chicks. However, there's still a ton of dust all over my guest room after a few weeks. I was thinking of sewing cotton fabric over the mesh panels to cut down on the dust all over the room. Does anyone see any issues in doing this?

    Hen twisting head upside down

My hen keeps twisting her neck around so that her head is upside down. At first I thought maybe wry neck so I have been treating with vitamins and keeping her separate for over a week with no improvement. She doesn't stay like this all the time. She can stand and hold her head normally. Eats and...

    Niederrheiner Thread! All Colors!

I'm curious to see how McMurray's chicks are. I thought these were dying out in the US due to limited gene pool. I loved my rooster and lost him last Christmas. It's tempting to order some from McMurray but I've already moved onto another breed :(

    Chicken sneezing

No bubbles or extra fluid around her head. Everything is dry. No rattling or labored breathing. I forgot that I had an herbal respiratory salve so I applied that to her nostrils and under her wings. I could have kicked up dust when I cleaned out their coop but they were out in the yard when I...

    Chicken sneezing

I have a hen that has always seemed to be more Sneezy than the others but every time I listen to her lungs she never sounds congested or shows any signs of congestion by her nostrils. Today I noticed she's sneezing more than usual. I had 2 chickens die this past week from what appears to be...

    Sexing 1 week old orpingtons?

I have 5 porcelain orpingtons and I love them! I found another thread where people said you could feather sex orpingtons even though I thought that was only true of hybrids? Just for fun want to see if we can sex mine? Then I'll know for sure in a few weeks when the combs come in if we were correct!

    eggs a loss?

I have a hovabator genesis and love it; have great hatch rates. I decided to borrow someone's inccuview incubator for lockdown/hatching this time so I could have better visibility and live stream my hatch. Hatch day is today and 6/15 eggs hatched yesterday afternoon through early this morning. I...
