They look like mixes to me. The black one vaguely looks like a Black sex link. The white one is a rooster for sure. I say this because the comb, wattles and face are already red at a young age. Your black one looks female and I am suspect that the orange one is a boy. Personal experience tells...

Here is Gertie again at 17 almost 18 weeks old. Some had thought she might be a he. Has had the same redness in the comb and wattles since 15 weeks old. Rounded saddle feathers and fat football shape... Pullet right?

I'm guessing #1 and #2 are pullets and #3 is roo. The scrawny tail, messy pattern on the chest and the red comb makes me think boy. Take it with a grain of salt though since I don't own SLW lol.

To me that looks like a roo with the pronounced comb at an early age. Also, unless the color is coming off differently in the photo, I don't think you have Buff Orpingtons. They should have white legs and yours have yellow (or they appear yellow in the photo).

Does the chick have "eyeliner"? Do you have a side shot of the head so we can see? I bought my little girl from a local breeder and her chipmunk stripe down her back was not as defined/dark but she had the eyeliner that the breeder said only the girls have.

Funny thing about the Speckled Sussex. I showed the breeder the photo and she said it wasn't a mix. She has enclosed breeding pens so it was unlikely (although not impossible) that she has an unknown baby daddy . What she thinks happened is... she had NH Reds, Rhodebars and the Speckled Sussex...
