We have a total of 12 Jersey Giants they started to lay at 5 months and so far they are going strong in that department! Some refer to Jersey Giants as a rare breed because of size Jersey Giants now days are for people in my opinion that love an impressive bird without much concern of how much...

Thanks " ELDEROO " your input makes a lot of sense and it's grately appreciated!!! our breeding program will one day be directed by choosing the best girls and the best boys (in the same color) then we'll start the journey ... without creating some type of Dalmation pattern by mixing white...
Thanks for the info there " silkiechicken " we can see now how it works you know...for rookies like us everything has a (?) mark in the poultry world we thank you for the help.
God Bless
We own Jersey Giants they are rated as a dual purpose breed so far they all started to lay eggs at 5 months of age!!! and I think there is no question as to their size!!! as they are the largest birds in our mighty land!!! for the record they mature very slow:(
Good Luck:)
We own 12 jersey giants
6 black females...5 white females and for things of life we ended with a white handsome boy...
The question really is : Is it OK to have them all in the same space or should we keep the black girls in a separate location?
We are not looking into breeding anytime soon...
