    The windows have hardware cloth. I am covering the nails in the ceiling with leftover feed bags. I believe that will keep them from hitting the nails, but also leave plenty of ventilation. It also gives me a way to use my feed bags. :)

    We decided to get some chickens. Only 4 or 5... we now have 22. We have Buff Orphingtons, Silkies, Red Star, Leghorn, and others. This year we bought 4 Easter Egger pullets from TSC. They crow. Free to a good home! :) We bought a coop from TSC last year for about $500 and it is junk...

    I got 4 EE pullets from Tractor Supply this past spring. They are fine and quite handsome birds, but have not started laying yet. This might have something to do with the fact that all 4 have started CROWING. :barnie

    Apparently the ban is only on backyard flocks. You can buy from big box stores, because they get inspected by the state. My wife wants a Silkie if anyone near Dothan has any. Oh, and a couple of Easter Egg types.
