    Baby Chick Pictures!!!!! POST!

Thanks. She's a Partridge Pekin Bantam. We call her "Mrs Brown" after my best friend's mum when I was a nipper.

    Baby Chick Pictures!!!!! POST!

Only been keeping chickens for 2 months after buying a trio of Partridge Pekin Bantams. Sadly one of the hens died after a week but "Mrs Brown" immediately got broody and hatched 3 from 3 so I thought I'd share photos of the first 2 weeks. Day 1 (or at least the first time I saw them) 2...

    Dead hen

Thanks for the replies. I'm brand new to this (feels like longer as I've spent many weeks building my "chicken palace" and making it perfect) so please forgive my naivety and long reply. I bought the trio last Sunday from a breeder whom I visited personally. The setup is extremely good and...

    Dead hen

So sorry to hear that. I share your sadness. I had a good check and could see no evidence that she was egg bound. A bit of blood around the vent but no blood in any droppings I could find. Guess it's just one of those things.

Newbie in Wales in at the deep end!

Thanks a million Barbara. I have two Bresse, two Silkie and two from my favourite hen "Mabel" who looks a bit Rhode Island Red but I'm not 100% sure. But since they've all been sired by a Bresse cock, I guess they're all just "farmyard mutts" to be honest. Been wanting to do this for years...

Newbie in Wales in at the deep end!

Hi everyone. My name is Mike and I've been chicken/duck/goose sitting for my neighbours for the last 3 years and finally decided to take the plunge with some of my own. The neighbours in question have lent us an incubator and provided 6 fertile (we hope) eggs to start off with. The incubator...
