Here is the picture you have all been waiting for. I hope it works!
I only had this egg on my body for 24 hours... I dont think I could do it for much longer than that. I have 4 little kids, one of them is still nursing, there was a little competition for the space!!!
hehehe, I was definitely aware of thumping and tapping going on in there. a few hours after she pipped, I took her out and put her under my un-reliable heat lamp, with a damp paper towel loosely around her. I kept a close eye on the temp, and before long she did her thing! I avoided soiling my...

You are right! I may be slightly crazy I guess my main problem has been keeping a steady temp with a light bulb. I have had the temp fluctuate from 95-107!! There is no way I would consider doing it for more than a few days. I really thought I cooked this baby! so, I was shocked when...
nothing too new, I can still hear the occasional cheep cheep and tapping. I am trying to just think good thoughts and wait patiently... I will keep you posted though!

I have a st. bernard/boxer mix... she always wants to go in the coop, and happily trots right in. Then stands in the corner with her head down and just takes the abuse!!! they peck her tongue, jump on her back, peck her ears. Still, every time she has an opportunity, in she goes again!!!!
Thank you, I took 3 of the eggs away. I put them in a plastic bucket on some hay, wet cloths near them and a heat lamp over them. the temp is 99 degrees. does that sound right?? mama has not gone back to sitting on the last egg:(
Hello, I am new here, have been lurking for some time though.
I have 15 red sex link hens, one went broody a few weeks ago. I put 4 fertile eggs under her, and she has been diligently sitting on them for 15 days now. This morning, when i went out to the coop, she was being assaulted by the...
