    What breed of chicks did you get? How many? I have 5 tolbunt frizzle chicks,6 Cornish cross chicks and 5 runner ducklings. Plus a gilt pig named francy but that's for a swine form I suppose.

    I've also heard introductions work well at night when the birds roosted. Just let the neworld bird in when everyone else is asleep. Seeing as how an adult can defend it's self I dont think there's much to worry about anyway.

    Also if you flip the bird over and firmly rub the belly near the vent opening and foamy appears it's a male if not a female . Using these two in combo should give you a good idea.

    Do you have any polish? I have had a pair once a golden laced and one silver laced great chickens! They are smaller chickens bUT they lay surprisingly well for such a small beautiful bird.most friendly and best personalty of all the breeds I've raised!
