Sadly there are no hatcheries even remotely near us. Our local hardware stopped 'chick days' several years ago (I don't know why). Our only option is chick days at local Tractor Supply. We have heard nothing but horror stories about them. Hubby worked a second job part time there just briefly...
When I called Meyer I asked if they wanted the photo and they said no. I emailed it anyway. That is just how we found them when opening box. I just wanted them to see for themselves.
When I called them yesterday and then sent an email requesting that they put those things in the new shipment, this is the reply I got:

FIRST TIME ORDERING FROM MEYER HATCHERY...
I am so gutted. We have been members here since 2016 when we first got chicks. Over the years we have ordered chicks by mail many times. We ordered only 3 or 4. We ordered from a couple different hatcheries---Murray McMurray, Chickens for...
I am so gutted. We have been members here since 2016 when we first got chicks. Over the years we have ordered chicks by mail many times. We ordered only 3 or 4. We ordered from a couple different hatcheries---Murray McMurray, Chickens for Backyards...They always came just fine. Never a dead...
I know this is several years after your experience, but we just had this happen and your are right---so discouraging. We sell some chicken eggs and duck eggs. We don't have a lot of birds, so usually only one or 2 doz. of each kind at a time. We've done this for at least 7 years and like you...
Coop windows need to open in spring/summer. We made interior removable screens in wood frames attached with wood turnbuckles---one layer of hardware cloth and one layer of regular window screening for bugs. HIGHLY advise.
She has no injuries. Gabby has 6 pairs of goose boots in lots of colors! They protect her feet on pavement, etc., when on walkies, but also are a fashion statement. She loves her booties! She wears them only when we go out on the walks.
We have a pet domestic goose named Gabby. We saw her hatch (incubator) and she bonded with us immediately. She is a Pilgrim breed. She goes on 'walkies' on a harness and leash which we trained her with when she was about 5 weeks old. She is now 17 months. She loves people and everyone takes her...
We bought a ginormous black tarp several years ago from a big box discount store for a budget sum (I believe under $50. and it is probably 25 x 25 feet or more. We use it for several purposes, but I think you should think about that solution until the court case is decided. If you put it on the...
We did not have a gun. Hubby went to Walmart. He said they just run a check on you there and then, and then you can buy a rifle. It may be different for other kinds of guns...We live in New Hampshire. We recently had another fox right near the house, broad daylight, who caught hold of a hen...
DO NOT "RELOCATE IT TO THE WOODS" or anywhere else. That will not keep it from coming back or becoming someone else's problem. We shoot predators that we trap in order to keep our flock safe. No one like to do it, but you have to be responsible. You owe it to your flock!
After having a fox almost grab one of our hens in the middle of the day and me yelling and chasing it, hubby went to store when he got home and got a .22 rifle. This was years ago. We have lots of predators. Everyone is safe at night as the coops are like Ft. Knox and locked up tight. We had a...
Yes! We HIGHLY recommend Pilgrims!!! They are calm and gentle. Lovely as well. Just make sure to get from a reputable dealer. There are people out there selling mixed or sub-standard birds. I highly recommend this Facebook page as well: Pilgrim Geese Group USA---
They are wonderful! Gabby is a domestic Pilgrim goose. They are a fairly rare domestic breed and the most calm and friendly. She is the dearest girl ever!!
Those are 'goose boots'----They are 'a thing'!! Not only protect feet on hot pavement or sharp rocks but they are her 'fashion statement' She has 6 pairs in different colors!! Birdy Booties🤣🤣🤣
