Thanks for checking! I had 3 more hatch for a total of 6 chicks. I had borrowed the incubator and went online to Amazon and read reviews, sounds like it's a bad incubator so next time I'll be sure to use a better one.
Just an update but I have had 3 eggs hatch out of the 30, which is better than none. I see 2 other eggs that appear to be pipping! I was really hoping to have good numbers but after thinking all were lost I am grateful for these 3.
So I am hatching my first batch and I put them in lockdown on Thursday evening. I look through he window all the time and only mess with anything if I need to quickly grab he sponge out to re-wet it. This morning I woke up and the heat inside the incubator was 109!!! I don't know how that...
Thanks for the reply! I snuck a damp sponge in there and put it under one of the vent holes. Maybe I can use a straw to wet it if necessary. So many different ways to do it but also easy to mess things up, I'll let you know how it goes!
