    Poopy butts could also be sign of lice. Check for clumps of nits at the feather base near and below her vent. That's how I discovered my chickens had lice. Ugh.

    Definitely both symptoms. Poor girl! Soak chickens legs in dog flea & tick shampoo for 10-20 minutes. This will soften the scales. Use an old toothbrush to clean away the dead scales and get to the critters in between the scales. Dry completely & cover her legs in Vaseline. Continue this process...

    Question on pecking

    I had a similar issue with chickens pecking one another until they bled. It got pretty bad. I bought "Pinless Peepers." It's a 2 man job to put the peepers on a chicken, but after about 2 weeks of wearing them, the chickens stopped pecking.
