My baby is doing great. We kept it inside in the brooder box. I gave vitamin and electrolytes in water and nonmedicated chick food. I noticed after 48 hours a completely well baby. I took it out for some outside time and it rested on my shoulder the whole time. I moved it back outside...
How is your chick this morning? Better I hope.
Mine is still alive. I took the starter feed and put it into the blender and mixed with water and Rooster Booster Vitamins and electrolyte. So far I see an increase in response. She/he chirps, moves it's head and moves it's legs, but not standing...
I have a polish chick acting the same way. I have been giving water and save a chick. So far it has been holding on for 8 hours. I just got done giving it water and sadly, I don't think it will make it the rest of the night. :-( I hope your chick pulls through.
We built this and placed drain covers (cut out a few slits big enough to get some food) over the pvc pipe. But you must glue the covers down or you will end up with a chicken at risk of hurting itself. Luckily I got to mine before anything happened to her aND care fully removed it.
My hens don't peck me. My rooster will try to come at me so I have to give treats so he sees I'm not a threat. The only time he won't come at me is if my husband goes into the coop with me. But I have to admit the water gun is a good idea also.
I have a few Polish chicks as well. I have read they are hard to sex. Mine is about 5 to 6 weeks. Here is one that decided to fly out of the brooder box. I hope he/she turns out as beautiful as the one above.
Yayyy! I am still fairly new to "chicks" so this makes me happy to hear. I got her specifically to be the one to sit on eggs. I hope it all goes as planned.
Thank you!!!
Hello, I am new to the site, but not new in owning chickens. My parents had Chickens growing up. Feeding 8 kids was not an easy task for them. Now here I find myself with 4 boys and a grown man, that love Breakfast as every meal of the day that I decided to get Chickens. It is working out...
