    i found two i would like to try- i was looking for no soy- i believe the 23% would be great for adults. possibly could add more protein via bugs for chicks if i get this one? the hand h would be great for chicks i think but not sure about adults. could mix with there layer version?     I am not sure, i bought a solar light and just started leaving it on low at night the last week. Daylight hours are slowly getting less. i would say they have had at least 12 hours of light before supplemental. I am trying to find a solar one that would turn on for just a few hours after dusk...

    thank you, i never have issues with chicks, just with the quail. since im new to quail, im just going to guess somehow the brinsea wasnt warm enough so thought trying this one with good reviews would be better.

    ok, i did buy a trailer load of "sand" its ground rock, so can i just boil it in water or something to clean it then give it to them? i dont want to give them coccidia. -not sure how to dry it back out though :)

    not quail, but i had coccidia outbreak for the first time with my chicks. It was terrible, i lost 5, bought corrid, but they kept dieing slowly. I ended up using a sulfa. that i use for my goat kids for coccidia and it worked(i tried toltrazuril which didnt work). Im not sure if it was the time...

    Maran with swollen belly/bum

    I don’t like culling either, I also dont eat meat, but the broom method is the easiest for me, my hands shake too much for a hatchet. I pull hard enough to pull the head off, I want to make sure the chicken is dead, after that just walk away for a bit as the chicken will move like crazy.

    i did trim the rear feathers really short, im trying to watch for fly strike, but so far been lucky. Its in the 60-70's here. No the two year olds havent slowed down on laying since they started at like 9 months, while the other two siblings molted this spring. well they didnt grow any new ones...
