that's the only thing i can think of because they were all huddled together in the coop. I guess they still needed a heat source even though its been in the 80s here at night and pushing 100 during the day. The coop has ample shade, and daylight so they can get in and out of it. I'm just...
I will let you know if i find out anything, and so far she is doing great. I have her inside, will probably keep her inside until she is full grown LOL
My brooder is an old rabbit hutch, off the ground, the temp outside has been in the 90's. It is covered, and has 2 sides with rabbit wire, and the other 2 are blocked for drafts. I hadn't put a heat source outside because of the temps, it's in the 80's at night. When i had them inside i did use...
Good morning, I am at wits end. I purchased 5 baby geese, hatched 2 of my own, and all but 1 has died. I got the ones i bought from my local feed store where she had them for 2 weeks in an outside brooder. Brought them home, put them in the same type of brooder that she had, they had fresh...
Well we've had some really bad weather over the weekend, a tree down in the back, a coop full of chickens dead, and one baby goose dying. Not a good start to the week.
Second baby hatched over the weekend, both are in the brooder with the chickens. Hopefully our coop will be finished this weekend with a built in brooder because these chicks are MESSY inside.
How sweet. I would let mine hatch them out, but our coop isn't finished and she started laying before we realized it was time LOL. Our pigs keep eating them so it's a race. He/she has broken free of the egg and is in the brooder as we speak. It is VERY talkative LOL. It's a mix between a...
Out of 20 chicken eggs we had 13 survive so far. We have 3 goose eggs in the incubator, one has hatched out of the shell, but it's still attached and there looks to be done yolk left. It's still taking and stretching, but not getting up yet. What should I do, out is there anything I can do. I'm...
Question!!!! I have a gosling that is out of the shell, but still attached and it looks like there is yolk still in the egg. It's been out for about 3 hours. Just laying there. Any help is appreciated. This is our first goose hatch. TIA!
Hello all!!! My first attempt at incubating and I've got two out of 15 chicken eggs that have externally pipped.
I also have 3 goose eggs growing beautifully.
Well we have 2 new additions to our little farm. Twin girls born late last week. We also have two eggs that externally pipped today. It's definitely spring on our farm.
Will definitely post pics as soon as I know I've done things right LOL. This is my first time hatching, and we now have 3 eggs in there now. Just don't know how soon I can start candling them to see if I have a chick growing or not. Also wasn't thinking about the non-poultry animals we have...
