. They could be Black indie or Cayuga. There is one other black breed I can't remember. But they could be one of three different breeds. Good luck though.
That is a bit strange. My Blue Swedish is just starting to get true feathers, so I have no comparison to give you. Sorry. I hope it is whatever breed you want it to be.
Some of the eggs at the grocery store can be a month old. Candle them, check for cracks or signs of freezing. If they still have the 'bloom' on them it is an antibacterial barrier. But, I would crack one open... Just to be safe.
This might be a better picture of my largest ducks. The younger ones are hatches from a backyard mix. Which I think explains the usual coloring on 'Marble'
Hi again! Thanks for the welcome. I have 8 ducklings. 2 Blue Swedish. 2 Black Swedish. 2 Cayuga. And 2 Welsh Harlequin. They have all been named by my kiddos. :) The lead 'Drake' so far is our Blue Swedish named 'Orange' because my 2 year old likes that color better.
Hi!
I am a fellow Coloradoian. I love in the Springs, and I am new to the BYC. Raising ducklings this year. Hope you all are doing well. I meant to stop by this thread before. Sorry! :)
Sorry, no idea. Are they a breed that has been approved for Australia? Do you know? Because, in the States, certain breeds are prohibited from Hawaii and Alaska, so that is the reason I ask.
. The one with the grey back looks blue Swedish. I don't see a khaki in there at all. They are normally pure brown. But your yellow duckling might be a pekin or a white layer duck.
Did she hurt herself running around? How does she swim? Because I have a 5 day old duckling that I have had to give 'Swim therapy' to several times a day. She wasn't even using one foot, and now she puts weight on it and has started using it.
