Back in spring i won a duplex coop/run. said it was sufficient for 8-10 chickens. Hardly. so we purchased three runs and connected them for our girls. strung rope lights to extend the day, we turn them on at 4:30am. IT is 27 feet long 3 feet wide.
Oops wrong picture.
Anyway, thank you for the information. . Anne's pink eggs are pink inside too and not white. CAnt wsit yo see what colors the other 4 give us.
Thank you. Anne is sweet with me but man with the 2nd set of four she is the consigliari to Catherine of Aragon's rule of the run. Those two made sure the other four knew who was in charge.
My other four are EEs and three are practicing their dongs and two started squatting last week. We are...
Sadly D&B Supply also sold me "Auracanas" and "Americanas" when they were really Easter Eggers. They also sold us two roos when they were to be pullets. So, our first set we ended up with an EE who lays pink eggs and has no tail (see picture). She is stunning and a bit goofy. Her feathers...
Our chicken run and duplex coop...aka Nancy's Nest with the rope lighting. this was at 8am and it turns on at 5am, gor now, then turns off at 8:30am. This works ggreat. rope is thick and lights stay cool to the touch hut bright enough to light the run and wake them up to keep egg production up.
My EE lays light pink eggs. She has no beard but has tufts and is rumpless ( no tail feathers except for 3 that hang down). Since laying she is very docile and will let me pet her all the time. Her head is is such dark brown that you can't see her eyes. She is a bit clutsy and bumbles down the...
Are the lights to go in the coop or can the go in the run? We have a duplex and long run so we strung them on the run tonight. However, they still went to bed when the sun went down even though run lights are on. Will they eventually adjust and stay on the run until the lights go off?
Thank you all for the input. This is what hubby and I did. He held her while I cleaned her rump then trimmed the underside feathers (I love the three that hang down so didn't want to touch them. I then cleaned the nest boxes and yes, my younger ones hang out there now "practicing" but there...
Thank you for the information. Definitely not vent gleet but definitely poop. So since she is rumpless and has three feather that cover her vent facing downward should i trim the,m? I cleaned her up yesterday and she laid a 5pm without being dirty. Checked her this morning and poop on the...
I have an EE whose tail feathers face downward. She started laying two weeks ago and up until the last two eggs they were clean. now they are dirty. I checked her today and notice poop stuck on her butt. Should I trim off the tail feathers? as I think they're getting in the way? or what...
