My chickens love the safe guard pellets. I don't understands all the hoopla about mixing this or that, or trying to squish the paste down a beak. I guess I'm fortunate to have willing patients.

We are still working on the carport coop. It has electricity, lights, and a ceiling fan. The coop is wired all the way around up to 5feet. One side is enclosed with plywood halfway along.

I noticed in the close-up photo that his comb is dark in the back side, and has some discolored spots. I'm wondering if he is ill... this new behavior started suddenly, right?

We were 86 this afternoon outside Houston, TX. Gotta love Christmas in Texas.

I I would LOVE to get some 2016 pullets!! (Or, some 2017 hatchlings.) Hubby bought my coop for Christmas. It's BIG 16×32... And I have THREE chickens. Hehe. Room to expand... My rooster is Turken from Mothergoose. They (Turkens) seem to do particularly well in the Texas heat.

My plan is to buy 6 pullets every 3 months for the first 18mo. That way they will be molting at different times and hoping I get a couple broodys in each set. I suck at hatching in an incubator...
