I know leghorns are supposed to lay white eggs however i have one that lays very light brown eggs... kinda a khaki color. Why is that? I got her from tsc last year but she just started laying a couple weeks ago.
That is one of the cutest chickens I have ever seen!! I also have an Americana/ EE rooster, my hens are white leghorn, light Brahma, a black sex link and Isa Browns. I am really not sure what to expect from their off spring, what color eggs or birds Ill end up with but it will be fun to find out!!
I have been thinking about incubating eggs. I have hens that are laying fertilized eggs and I was thinking I would just try to hatch some of those... but I have so many questions!!!
Is there a certain amount of time that I need to get the eggs in the bator by, can I take them from the nesting...
ok, thanks. He is a pretty and very friendly bird, often getting on my shoulder or my back any time I stoop over in the chicken run, altho I am not really sure I should keep him since I really just wanted to have egg layers.
I got this one from Tractor Supply. He is about 9 to 10 weeks now I think. He is as big as my leghorns who are about a week older. I had asked for 6 pullets ( 3 leg horns and 3 isa browns). While the lady was collecting them I went and got chick food and came back to a closed box so i collected...
I am not completely sure... prob about 8 weeks now. When I got them the lady said they were 3 weeks old but they didn't look anything like the other 3 wk old chicks I had.
Any one ever seen this before?? Any suggestions? I already separated her from her "sisters" but now she is crying all the time. This is my first flock and I have no clue.
