Checking-In On Peeps - Post Here To Say Hello!

Yep, that's me! I retired and moved up to property in the mountains 6 years ago. It's kept me so busy I just haven't been online much. I'll try to do better. I do not have any of my original 4 chickens left, but now have about 30 in several different coops and runs. Too many roosters forces me...

My girlfriend and I purchased 4 "hens" last year, and one rare breed turned out to be a rooster. He is a beautiful BLR Wyandotte and we got very attached to him, as did the hens. Hey folks! I started my backyard flock last year with a Blue-Laced Red Wyandotte, a SexLink, a Partridge Plymouth Rock, and a Speckled Sussex. I've since lost the Sussex to Marek's, and the BLRW turned out to be a roo! We're fighting the city to keep the roo. Hopefully we can stall long enough...

    7 week-old Ameraucana Rooster - Issaquah, WA

Sorry to hear of your dilemma. I too live in Issaquah, and ended up with a rooster with my first purchase of 4 "hens". By the time we realized he was a roo, the girls were so attached to him, and so were we, we decided he had to stay. We were able to get an exemption from the city, but are...
