    As "bluto in mo" said, eye injuries are not to be put off. I work in an ER and eye injuries initially can look benign but what happens when you wait up tmw with an ugly swollen infected eye? I'm just saying... It should be looked at.

    I'm a doctor. You'll need to see a doctor where you live. You need prescription antibiotic eye ointment to prevent any infection plus a tetanus shot if you are not up to date. This is the way I'd treat a patient in your situation First I'd examine the eye ....make sure nothing more serious...

    The lil chick is in house now as the mother hen rejected her. No more oatmeal for her Just crumbles. With sour crop would the chick constantly be opening her beak with each breath? There's no wheezing only an occasional sneeze.

    Educate me... What does olive oil do for the sour crop.? I have a lil chick 9 weeks old that has horrible breath..! I was putting oat meal in with the cracked corn and crumbles for all my flock. But the only lil chick seemed to develop problems. Maybe the oatmeal is fermenting in the crop?

    Mystery Predator

    I had two of my beautiful hens, which I hand raised in 2008, taken by a fox. It was 11AM last Monday and couldn't believe how bold this fox was. I thought they were nocturnal ...he also got 8 pullets/cockerels. I was devastated, in shock, and cried for 2 days.

    Should I Let her Hatch this time of year??? Suggestions Wanted

    My hen went broody mid-November and I live in upstate NY. This winter has been bitter cold so I never thought the eggs would hatch. Well, one did so far. I then brought Mama and her baby into the house. The hen continues to sit on 3 eggs and I hope one or two hatch so baby Nora has a buddy...
