    Funky looking foot

Does anyone have any idea what the heck is wrong with her foot? The pic on the left is her good one, the other pic is the bad one. She is running, walking, and jumping just fine. Appetite is good.

    Easter Egger not herself

Thanks. I have put Hannah in her own coop/run. I won't cull Hannah, it will be those other two nasty girls.

    Easter Egger not herself

I'm not sure how old she is...got her from a friend. I think she was laying. I have 11 hens so it's hard to keep track. I will give her some vitamins. I have separated her into her own coop/run. It is the darndest thing, I have two bowls of water and spread the food far and wide. When...

    Easter Egger not herself

Morning all! Hoping you can help. I have 11 chickens and up until two weeks ago, they were split into two coops (side by side). We built a bigger coop and run and put them all in together. Hannah Brown, my Easter Egger started molting (or so I thought) but now I'm thinking it may be stress...

Source for US made dried mealworms?

Cluckin' Good Grubs are grown and processed in the Northwestern part of the United States. I bought some for my girls and they loved them. They are a bit expensive but I feel it's worth it for quality treats. They also have herbs and food; organic and non-gmo. https://www.scratchandpeck.com/

What religion do you belong to?

I was raised Roman Catholic, tried born again Christian and Lutheran. I guess I would now consider myself Pagan. I follow the motto that what I do comes back to me so I try and play nice. But, I'm human, and at times fail. I get up and try again. I am not a fan of organized religion having...

When can the girls go outside?

Thank you! The coop we have is a manufactured one so the wire fencing has very small holes. We're adding more fencing around it and will put chicken wire over the top so they can't fly out. We live in a development and I know our one neighbor would NOT be happy to have chickens in his yard.

When can the girls go outside?

Good morning all! Since this is our first go at chickens I have about a million questions but for right now I'll only ask 1,000 or so. The girls are about 6-7 weeks old (got them from a store, they weren't sure). They have quite a lot of feathers and I've been putting them in the outside...

Hi everyone! I'm a newbie here and a newbie to raising chickens. We live in Ballston Spa, about 40 miles north of Albany. Our town just changed it's ordinance and we can have up to 12 chickens, but no roosters. Looking forward to gaining information from all of you with more experience...

    Hello from northern NY

Good morning! So excited I found this forum. Our town just passed an ordinance that we can have chickens and we have taken the plunge. There are six chicks in my house waiting for it to get warm so they can be moved outside. I'm hoping to glean a bit of knowledge from all you seasoned folks...
