In Orpingtons:
Gold Laced Splash vs White Buff Laced
What exactly is the difference between these 2?
How is the White Buff Laced achieved?
How much difference is there between the 2 phenotypically?
I’m in love with Gold Laced Splash Orpingtons. I don’t know what genetics are involved & would love some clarification on that & what I should expect of their offspring.
Am I looking at a buff bird with different genes overlaid?
Do they breed true?
Thanks 😊
These guys are around 10 weeks old & they are killing me because I absolutely can’t tell their sexes. The one facing a different direction is noticeably larger than the other two. They have no saddle feathers yet.
I wasn’t 100% if this is the right subforum to post this thread, but I hope it is.
These chicks are the product of a Blue Orpington over 2 Splash & one Blue hen. I know the percentages of what each chick has the potential of being color-wise, but what I’m not completely sure of is what’s what at...

Im new to quail. These are the ones I hatched out about 3/21. I know blue circle is male & red circles are hens, but I have 2 that are like green circle. I just can’t decern what green circle is. I’m gonna cull if male so I don’t have such a hard time distinguishing future offspring. Thanks
I’m looking for an easy to read guide to colors. Basically I’m interested in what combinations will result in what colors. I found a “color calculator” online but it either doesn’t work, or doesn’t like my phone.
Currently I’m wanting to know what chick colors I would get when I crossed my...
Check out this little guy. I got a bunch of blue eggs from a seller who said they were from his “old wheat drab” Americauna birds. So I hatched them out &, although the others do have muffs & varying degrees of brown feathers, theres this guy. His color, comb, & odd Mohawk are just crazy. Does...
