My 2 broody serama hens have been sitting 6 eggs. I had 1 egg hatch yesterday and heard chirping under mum until late last night, but having heard nothing since I lifTed the hens to fond the chick dead.
This is my first time hatching eggs and gutted don't come close. What would you think I do...
Hi. The chicks are still under mum. It's been over 24 hrs and she hasn't moved from the nest. Is that ok or should I lift her to check the chick ( I haven't heard it chip since yesterday.
Yey indeed.. looks like they have thrown the shells out of the nest( I have 2 broody hens sitting) and my rooster is standing guard at the entrance to the eglu. Cannt wait to see them
Hi thanks for the reply. I went out to the eggs and I couldn't be sure which egg was chirping I have candled again heard no chirping but I think I can see movement so I am now doubting the age of egg.
