    I ordered six females from a hatchery. They sent seven, and I'm afraid that the extra one might be a rooster! They are 20 week old BO's and as far as I know, they are not laying yet. They free range in our yard all day. Haven't heard any crowing yet, so I'm hopeful this one is just an early...

    Hello! We moved ours out to the coop a couple of weeks ago,and they love free ranging during the day. They just put themselves up at night! They were getting so noisy insdie!

    We are new to backyard chicken farming! We have 2 Buff Orpintons, a Barred Rock and a little black and white bantam. I'm not sure what she is yet :) I am enjoying being a "chicken farmer" and look forward to learning as much as I can here!

    Hello! I am a newbie here, so please be patient with me! We purchased two Buff Orpington chicks from our local farm store. We thought they were both hens, but one started crowing yesterday. So we are now questioning this assumption! I was wondering if anyone here could help us out! Thank you!
