It has been warm but not exceptionally humid. Their food is stored in a cool dry shed inside of a big Rubbermaid and I refill it regularly so it doesn't sit in the feeder too long. I have one of the fill from the top ones so good doesn't get trapped in there by newer food and go moldy. I have 6...

And none of mine have had paralysis of the legs. Mostly just extreme weakness and loss of balance followed by extreme lethargy and ultimately death. I tried to give them ampro medicated water via syringe and also made a paste if their food to make it easier to eat but none of it worked.

Yes the barn I bought them from says that all their chicks are vaccinated for Marek's and started on a medicated feed.

No symptoms of respiratory distress, but the most recent one took a turn for the worst this morning. Her wings were hanging down away from her body and she had a hard time holding her head up. She also had really poor balance and quite a bit of wobble while trying to walk. I didn't want her to...

Unfortunately the girl referenced in this post died a few days ago. I've now lost 3 of my six hens and another seems sick now too. I've been giving them the treatment dosage and cleaning out their waterer every single day and regularly changing out their bedding. After the last one died I also...

Ok, after watching the video it appears she may have e coccidiosis. There is no blood in her poop and she is still eating and drinking on her own. I gave her extra corrid via syringe and cleaned and disinfected the coop and feeder and waterer with bleach solution. I will monitor her daily and...

Update on the Cochin, she still appears to havr labored breathing, although she is eating and drinking, leading me to believe it is not coccidiosis. I picked up some tylan 50 at the co-op and was considering giving her that orally. She is a bit slower than the other birds right now and her eyes...

The chickens are all between 10 and 12 weeks old. I live in western Washington and the temperatures around this time range from around 50 at night on the low side up to occasionally mid-seventies during the daytime. I am giving them the treatment dosage of the powder for it which I believe is...

One of my other birds started acting strange today. More lethargic than usual, although I still had to work to get her. I held her up to my ear and I could hear her breathing but I did not detect any rattling or other odd noises. She did appear to have labored breathing. I gave her the corid...

Hello, I lost a bird yesterday, I believe to coccidiosis. I put the rest of the flock on a treatment dose of ampro/corrid. The waterer I have is a 5 quart and I removed the waterer source from their run so they only have access to the medicated water. My question is, should I give fresh...

    Not roosting

Thanks for all the input. Since that photo I have put in a ramp with some boards for them to walk up. The roost itself is 15 inches from the wall and it's made of 2x4s. You can kind of see the ramp from this picture.

    Not roosting

Hello, I know that there have been previous posts on this topic but I saw that they are a few years old and I was hoping to get some insight from other chicken owners. I have 5 hens and a rooster and they are all about 2 1/2 to 3 months old and they have no interest in sleeping on the roost...
