I do lock them up at night. We had the shed closed up and then we went in there to do something an hour later and he was just lifeless. No injuries or anything. All the other chickens were fine. They were all in great health too. So it is a mystery.
I have four hens (2 ameraucanas, 1 silkie, and 1 cochin) i lostmy rooster a few days after christmas (not sure what happened bwcause he put himself to bed with the rest and then we went in an hour or so later and he was gone. No attack marks or anything). Well i think the chickens stopped laying...
Mine are a mint green kind of color. Not sure if mine are true ameraucanas but from what i read that is the color they usually are. Mine also started laying around that age.
So i got a new girl and its a cochin but now im not sure if its her laying the eggs or my silkie because they sleep together. The blue one is my ameraucanas but im unsure of the cream colored. One was where they sleep and the other was with the blue one.
My americaunas were born on june 8th and are now 4.5 months old. They have free range of our huge back yard and they are getting big! I also have a silkie pulley and a silkie cockerel who has been trying to do his "chicken dance" in front of the americaunas. Im excitedly and patiently waiting...
