    How long until ducks tame?

From my personal experience: I purchased an adult farm duck that had no positive human interaction prior to meeting me.. He had been beaten up and picked on by other drakes he'd been housed with, missing feathers, and just frightened of everything. He was bought to keep my 6 month old mallard...

    Difference between Rouen and Mallard.

My smallest of the two domestic ducks was the flyer. I had a few acres that the duck would go on short "flying practices" around the house but he never showed interest in migrating. He was just playing around. He would never leave me or his best bud (the bigger duck). Normally he would fly...

    Difference between Rouen and Mallard.

OK.... sorry this took so long...had to find my pics. I had two that were similar to yours. They are domestic mallards (one could fly- the other died as he couldn't escape a hawk :( ). I've also had a wild mallard that I hatched (the mom abandoned her eggs outside my office-only one...

    Ducks Have Teeth?

He's a mallard... But I'm starting to think he's a freak of nature because after looking up other mallards, I haven't found any with such huge serrations :/

    Two drakes -mallard and rouen

I, unfortunately, need to rehome my two babies. I have moved and no longer have the space or time. For them anymore. They are very spoiled and must go to someone who will be willing to spoil them even more. They are very good about following me and one, once he trusts you, will even hop right...

    The Other Poultry Contest!

Thanks, Fluffers! I kind of spoil the only two I have WAY too much so they tend to behave like little babies. When I took the 1st pic, Mallen was all proud of himself for guarding my lap from my other boy

    Drakes together

I've got two drakes. They have their "pecking order" (the little guy is the one in charge) but they dont bug each other too much and they freak out if they lose sight of one another. It's rather cute. I even had a sick, recovering wild hen for about a month and all attempts at introductions...

Angel wing in ducks, & how we wrap to mend it - Pictorial

My duck had it in both wings and around three-four months old one corrected itself. The other I don't intend to adjust (this is my only duck CAPABLE of flying!)
