I am in the Caribou of B.C.. It is April 12th and it was snowing this morning then it turned to rain and later the sun came out. My chickens headed for the home when the snow was its heaviest and came out in the rain and snuggled down into straw to enjoy the sun.:D

    Change in egg size?!?

I have 6 Bovan girls and one that will produce a tiny egg. The tiny egg just started the last couple of months. I don' t know if this is due to the cold winter we just came through or not. I don't always get one tiny. As these eggs have no yolk I use them in making desserts requiring egg whites.

    Heard of a Bovan Brown?

I have 6 BOVAN girls. They where able to handle -30 degrees celius temperature this winter. They have continually layed eggs. We fine them very curious and friendly. Now that spring has arrived they love getting out and foraging for the little bugs, worms and fresh weeds and grasses.

We got electronic sound for rodents that you plug in. That hi frequency sound keeps the squirrels and other rodents away and doesn't bother the chickens or other birds.

I have been crushing two to three vitamin c with d pills up and mixing it with treats as my girls are not big on shells either. The vitamin c is made from oyster shell.
