The two silkies I got back in March...one of them started crowing about a week and a half ago. We can't keep him, because if someone complains to the HOA, all the chickens will have to go. Know anyone that might...
A few weeks ago, we got two silkies from a local person here. Last weekend, we got 4 Isa Brown chicks. All the chicks are in the same brooder, and after a tiny bit of pecking, they all got along fine.

Oh no Sunny! What a horrible thing to happen D: And what a silly little hen for causing all this ruckus by hiding in the bamboo
We have a bird killer here as well. She's killed too many pigeons to count, but hopefully we'll be able to teach her to stay away from the chocks

I was looking on my local Craiglist, and found a a rare chicken, pheasant and quail breeder. After a while of looking around their site, I ran into the page for these "American Onagadori" chickens. They look like beautiful chickens and I was looking at getter a rarer breed for myself when my...

At 18 degrees this morning, I don't know, but I would be concerned. Another option for you might be looking into an ad I saw on Craigslist the other day. There is a guy in Truckee with an incubator and access to fertile eggs offering to hatch for free. Don't know if I am supposed to...
Hey Reno people!
I'm up in the Northwest, near Verdi. No chickens yet but hopefully soon
On that topic, I've been thinking of getting some day old chicks shipped here from Ideal. Do you think it would be too cold during shipping?
