    8 today. But the temps have been in the low 30s high 20s at night and only low 40s to high 30s during the day. So. I kind of expect there to be a drop in production our at the very least a slowing in laying.

    Meyer Hatchery has birds 16-20 weeks old currently. They are about $13 a peice. And I believe they are ready to start layi ng or are laying already. :) I checked it out a few nights ago.

    Adding color to my egg collection.

    I was wondering what breeds I should get to add colorto my collections of eggs? I have mostly brown layers right now with a few creams/pinkish and white. I was wanting to add Ameraucanas and Olive Eggers... I want my collections to be colorful. SSuggestion please. Thanks in advance.

    Should there be water available *inside* the coop?

    We have a feeder and watered inside our chicken room. However, the chickens can come and go as they please since they have a huge fenced area. They Can go out and drink from the small duck pond and eat bugs and snippets or come inside and eat feed and drink from the waterer. Their choice. :)...

    Rooster acting outta sorts.

    Thanks, we'll get him set up in iso. Any suggestions on the cause? It's Been getting into the mid 30s to mid 20s here at night and the chickens well NOT go in at night. They like to sleep outside with the ducks. We were kind of wondering if maybe he just got too cold.
