No it had more of a smooth blue, it was in Morocco if that helps. -

It is similar to a Mountain Quail with a blueish chest and brown around it's face and on it's back and it's wings are brown with white stripes like this image but it didn't have the topknot on it's head. There was a few of them so it wasn't just one with a missing topknot. -

I will be doing it for the fun of keeping and breeding them, I used to breed cockatiels so buttons should be fine. Thanks for the help! -

Hi, I am planing on breeding some birds in my back yard and Quail seemed like a interesting option but I've read that domesticated Quail are not the best at raising their chicks. Are there any breeds that are able to raise there chicks?
