Hi Temujin(still an awesome name, hahaha),
Yes, Pama and Burmese are the same thing. If someone is using the term "Pama" you can bet that the Burmese bird was sourced in Thailand, as that is the transliterated word for Burmese or Burma (now called Myanmar, just to keep things simple) in Thai.
I was also wondering about this as I have two extra male gamecocks(Burmese) that can't keep with my main group but I don't want to get rid of. My question wouldn't be about the barrels, but about tethering. What are the pros and cons of tethering a bird?
Pyxis, thank you very much for that answer! I was worried for a bit, as all 10 of the rhode island reds that I ordered for my daughter had spur bumps and she was pretty bummed when I told her we can't keep that many roos......
Cheers.
Hiya, I also need a bit of help. I ordered 10 rhode islands from a local hatchery(I live in Myanmar). I ordered all females, but now in their third, nearly fourth, week, they all have small nubs where a roo's spurs would be. Does this mean I just got a whole batch of males?
I am also starting raising meat birds. I bought a group of what I assume are cornish x(the hatchery I got them from referred to them only as meat birds.....). This is the third week and so far, it's going good. I have them on regular layer feed(was unable to source any other feed type) and they...
I have a brilliant layer(oddly enough,of game fowl stock) who's just gone broody. I'll have a try with Ol Grey Mare's suggested method, and see if that fixes her.
Hey all, BYC newbie here. I live in Myanmar/Burma. I recently got a local breed hen and her brood for my kids. Cockfighting is a very popular sport here, and the local chickens are reared with that partly in mind. I had two males in the batch and had to seperate them at between three and four...
I'm a new member, just joined up. I live in Myanmar(Burma) and have just gotten a few chicks and a mother her because I wanted to show my kids where their food comes from.
I'm not new to caring for animals, but am new to raising chickens, so I will most likely have loads of questions to put up...
