    The eggs are not super dark, but they are a darker brown the the sex linked eggs. They were hatched at the local elementary school and given to me so they may be a mixed breed hen.

    I am new to owning chickens but I love it! I have 5 hens and I built my own coop this past summer for them. The first two hens (Black Sex Link, I think) started laying late October and then my Easter Egger and the two Wheaten Marans started laying in Decemer. I am getting large light brown eggs...
