Strange droppings should I be concerned?

Oh I see, thank you So much for letting me know, I will get some pellets or layer mash when I go to town. I just got confused because the person in the store said it would cause them to lay more eggs

Strange droppings should I be concerned?

Thanks everyone for your help, I have dosed Marge with praziquantel so hopefully she will get better soon. I have bought them scratch mix with molasses but they still leave grains. I was going to get them laying mash so they couldn’t pick and choose but I don’t want to give them something that...

Strange droppings should I be concerned?

Good point, the only problem I have there is that they hate pellets and refuse to eat them which is why I switched to the whole grain feed. I might try out crumble type feed

Strange droppings should I be concerned?

Okay well I know that they are not solid because I prodded the feces with a stick. I have seen things moving in the droppings a while back which is why I treated the chooks with levamisole before. I do know which chicken who has those droppings (her name is Marge) and also, if they are...

Strange droppings should I be concerned?

unfortunately I cannot afford to see a vet. The chickens do free range and they eat chook feed and scraps. They are quite fussy with their chook feed though. When I top up the feed they eat like they have never eaten before but even then they only seem to eat the sunflower seeds and corn from...

Strange droppings should I be concerned?

They didn’t really look like seeds but they were also not moving around. My chickens are quite thin so I suspected that worms were the issue so I gave them levamisole but nothing seemed to change

Strange droppings should I be concerned?

I noticed that some of my chickens droppings look like this and I am not sure what this means. Could it be worms? I have treated them for worms in the past but maybe I should treat them again. Any help would be very much appreciated

Hey everyone, thanks for all your help. I thought I'd update you on Dori. We managed to find an avairian vet and we took Dori to see her. Unfortunately, the lump was actually cancer and she had to be put down, at least she is no longer suffering.

    Please help

Thanks for the information, I do not have access to those drugs, unfortunately the only way you can get it here is through a vet. I had my suspicions about canker so I started treating her with copper sulfate, apparently it works.

I might try cutting a larger and deeper incision tomorrow, I'm just paranoid that I'll end up cutting a sinus or something.

    Please help

Hey, I tried lancing it but all I got was blood does that mean I'm doing something wrong? I think the inside of her beak, mouth and also her tongue have swollen up too so she can't close her beak. It's not looking good.

Ok, awesome thanks. When lancing, how deep would you make the cut?

    Please help

Thanks so much for the information, I'll try lancing again tomorrow, I didn't have much luck today. I don't think I made the incision deep enough. I have coconut oil, tea tree oil and I'll see if I can get some oregano oil :)

    Please help

Hey, thanks for all of your responses. I've been trying to lance it but she won't hold still, it's very difficult. The swelling extends to the inside of her mouth too. I honestly do not know if it is affecting the nostrils or not, I can't remember how much flagyl I was using and I don't have any...

I'm going to give her amoxicillin at 125mg per kilogram of body weight because the lump is growing rapidly

    Please help

Ok so I got a toothpick and picked at the scab, it looked like there was some yellow puss inside. It looks like a nasty infection, I have amoxycillin on hand, but I'm unsure of the dosage, she's a small chicken.
