Sadly my girl lost her battle a few days ago So heartbroken but also relieved she is no longer in any discomfort or pain. Thank you again for all of your advice and support. I appreciate it beyond words. Randilia1953 I hope your girl makes it through
My poor little baby has taken a turn for the worse today. One of her eyes has blown up during the day today and is now swollen shut is this normal for MG or coryza? It's almost been a week she's been sick now and I thought she was coming good. I just don't know what to do
Thank you again for all this info. I think the link to the handbook worked but if you could send it to me on email also that would be lovely. My email address is
Eggcessive I have my hens in a coop but I do let them free range of an afternoon around the yard. I let...
Honestly I would be lost without this forum! The first time one of my silkies went broody I thought she was so ill and I didn't know what to do...little did I know haha. I've learnt so much already and I'm so thankful for people like you that take the time to give advice and share their stories...
It is so upsetting seeing her like this I have isolated her and the eye that was initially infected is almost completely clear now but it's moved onto the other eye. Her nostril and the odour have also improved dramatically today as it's no longer yellow which is good. I think I'll keep her...
Do you think I can put her back in the coop with the others or are they likely to contract it as well? Whilst she will remain a carrier, will she ever recover from it?
I can't tell if she's getting better or worse. The infection started in 1 eye but now it seems to be in both and this morning it's also a bit smelly I still have her separated from my other girls and started her on the antibiotics which I'll post a picture of too. How long until I should start...
Oh and no, she doesn't seem to have any other symptoms either. She's been chirping away this morning like she usually does too so she doesn't seem to be in pain. I feel like it's an infection of some sort but I just don't know what to do or how to treat it
I know sorry my phone camera is crap. Yes it looks like a growth but I don't think it's blocking her nostril. Her eyes are weeping with a clear and bubbly substance. I cleaned her up with some warm salty water last night and this morning it was weeping again so I've cleaned it up with some salty...
Hi everyone. Hoping someone can help me. One of my baby's has developed an infection of some sort on one of her eyes and beak. What could it be? My other 3 girls are completely fine. Should I be taking her to a vet? I only noticed it yesterday. Help! Thank you [/IMG][/IMG]
This forum is fantastic thanks so much.
Can they be broody without being on an egg though? She's not sitting on an egg. Just in the nest box as the last egg she laid over a week ago I collected?
She is so beautiful She doesn't really come out for food or water on her own unless I nudge her out of the box. She doesn't go to peck me at all when I put my hand near her. She quite happily lets me pick her up
