Yeah I'd leave them in the incubator and don't give up on still regulating the temperature and humidity. It was hard for me to do that as I was focusing on the 12 that hatched and didn't have much time to think about the 1 that didn't. Good luck!
This little guy never was able to internally pip. :( had to pull the plug on the incubator yesterday because it was for sure dead and it was so sad. :(
Thank you!! I hope it'll be alright! Especially seeing the heartbeat has been slowing. Or maybe I just caught it in a time of sleeping haha.
And thanks! BYC is my new favorite website to go to!
I recently had 12 out of 13 eggs hatch (all within 12 hours on the expected hatch date). I have one that still hasn't hatched and now it's 2 days overdue. I candled it last night and I though I could see a feint heart beat. I also did the float test and it had the right buoyancy but it didn't...
Thank you!! They all have cute little personalities! There were some that I thought were sick or dead, but it turns out they like to sleep in weird positions. So cute! xD
:D UPDATE: So I started with 14 eggs, one was infertile. 12 hatched within 12 hours of each other just yesterday starting at 4pm! (They were just bursting out of those little shells!)
I have one more to go. It's fully developed but hasn't internally pipped yet (I had to candle it well after...
Now they're for sure peeping away!! Super hard to hear, but when I video tape through one of the vent holes, you can hear them!! :D 6 are almost finished with their external pips!!
I think I heard one internally pip! I'm not sure though... thought I saw an egg wobble and heard a tiny cheep... but then no movement or cheep after that.
Thanks guys!! I'm so excited but also very nervous!! I want them all to come out fine!
Also, last night I woke up to check on them and the temperature was at 104! I have no clue how long it was like that for and I'm very worried that it might've killed them. :( I did everything I could to...
They are coturnix quail and early in the incubation, the incubator ran a few degrees warmer than it should have. This could be the reason why they're wobbling a day before their lockdown.
If it did pip internally, would I be able to tell without disrupting it? (Would I be able to hear anything...
Day 13 just began and a few of my quail eggs also began rocking! I was reading that when you see the rocking, that means it has internally pipped?
I'm not sure what to do because I was planning on going into lock down starting day 14!
