Interesting. I have a chicken as well that seems 'off' a bit. He crows and carries on as normal, but misses his food like yours. Granted he's ok, by no denying that like me, you might just have a special needs chicken on your hands.
To be honest, the closest I've typically 'gotten' to any...
I intend to make the whooooole thing as user and maintenance friendly as I can. Canadian winters are UGLY and I don't want to have to spend a minute longer than I have too out there farting around with food and water. I'm definitely going to rig something up for both to make my life easier...
Tick made the list! Awesome.
Incidentally, people actually get upset if their chickens don't win or whatnot?! Yowzers. Doesn't matter to me if I/they win or lose personally. It's all just silly fun obviously. To the other finalists...NICE BIRDS!!!
...I'll be sure to break the news to Shaggy...
You guessed it! Had a rooster and had to rehome him. He was extremely aggressive towards the whole group. His 4 hens as well. The 4 of them aren't crosses. Just their new rockstar Shaggy is. The eggs are omelets anyways, but I'm definitely gonna incubate an egg or two to see what comes of it...
Yoooooo. Aside from Kevin, I'm the matriarch of a 25 bird family. True story! AND IM ONLY 10 MONTHS OLD! I have become head honcho to 5 other roosters...ALL OLDER THAN ME. I enjoy leading day long property strolls with the ladies. I mean MY ladies. Yup...7 of em'. What can I say? Im a perfect...
Haha... long live the popcorn eating emoji. Thanks for that chuckle.
In response to the elevated coop, YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT and I knew it. GOOD CATCH! Thanks!!! You seriously saved me from building it and having to deal with yeeeears of BS and unwanted issues, etc. Thank you Thank you...
I decided after another loooooong Canadian winter to rethink my coop needs. I thought it might be fun to share progress photos and open the thread to ideas moving forward.
I have no plans at all, other than the fact I need a building. It's being purpose built from the ground up for my...
Thanks for the kudos. I'm glad you enjoy seeing them as much as I do. The ornamentals can certainly be exceptionally beautiful. No denying that!
Apart from my own birds, a thumbs up to the other entrants. Definitely some clean, healthy and beautiful looking birds...I'd love to have...
Thank you very kindly. I suspected that may have been it, but I wanted to show off their build and plumage. Figured as beautiful as they are, they may be good examples. I bought them at a local auction on speculation they were quality birds. I REALLY appreciate your feedback. Glad to hear it! :)
Sorry to jump in your thread but I have a pair of chickens I've recently acquired. Wanting to know what they are. They are beautiful birds and as far as I know they aren't mutts.
Looking forward to hearing what the pros say they are. Super shiny plumage with a green hue in the wing. Awesome...
