I would try to sell them directly to the consumer. I seriously doubt you could make any money selling them to a wholesale processer. You won't be able to compete with the larger producers. The biggest factor I can see is the bulk feed rates they can get.
Even if you had ALL the equipment...
That's definitely good news!
We had two baby Californian rabbits escape from the rabbit tractor a couple of weeks ago. We'd see them a couple of times a day but couldn't catch them. The dog got one yesterday morning, but the other one ran into one of the chicken coups after the storm...
I just finished 52. All hens. 45 were butchered at just over 9 weeks, 6 at various times between 4 and 8 weeks.
900lbs of feed. They dressed an average of about 5lbs.
Glad they turned out good!
I smoked about half a dozen yesterday on red oak for about 8 hours (I like a deep smoke and always make it bitter with pecan or mesquite).
I injected with a mixture I mixed up and rubbed them down really good. I have one beer rack, so I used a Pepsi (all I had)...

Tell Buster I'm proud of him! Once he got settled in I think he enjoyed learning the process a little more. I think he'll look forward to the next trip.
I'll have the gizzards, livers, and hearts with me Sunday. We'll pull some out for you!
I hope you and Buster quail were good. I know the chicken we put on yesterday was! We had it on within a few minutes of getting home. VERY GOOD!
I've got a couple of cages for the ducks, so I'll be...

That looks great! What are the dimensions? How many birds can fit in it?
They are 8'X12' (actuall a couple inches longer so that I can use studs for bracing the roof). It makes for an easy build with four 8' 2X4s, 4 12' 2X4s, and wall studs underneath the tin. It's a little heavy...
Well, don't get your expectations too high. They're just pullets so they won't be monstrous or anything.
But it'll be good to get aquainted with the place and see if you want to use it in the future. It works for me.
My little girl's excited about it!

i thought i couldn't afford it either....
we have a farm "frobergs" that sells their fresh grown vegetables. they are about 5 miles from me. i'd never been there, thinking they would be expensive. i decided to stop by their yesterday and found that i had been very wrong. their...
aladrot,
You got their number? They do a TERRIBLE job advertising. They aren't listed ANYWHERE on the world wide web. I meant to drive by this morning on the way home and write it down, but I forgot.
I think I'm gonna shoot for Tuesday morning. When you going?
I've done it for the last seven weeks without any problems.
Just remember it's better for a rabbit not to chew on treated wood. And they will chew on wood!
