It’s not in the meat. It’s only skin and fat peeled back. There are no vets around here for chickens, I have Tried before. Weird since we live in an agricultural area.
I put Her in the bath to clean her bottom. Where she’s been sitting she had a lot of poop stuck and I needed To clean it off to get a good look at her backside. The dirty water did not touch her wound. It was only rinsed with clean water.
it does still have a fishy smell. I just Cleaned her shin and reapplied the neosporin. She definitely is moving around a lot more today. I am going to try and get some antibiotics just in case.
I do not have any antibiotics. I am Going to see if anyone I know has some. I will keep cleaning her up daily. Thank you for your help. Think she will be ok without antibiotics?
I have Added a pic. It was smelling fishy pretty bad but since I cleaned It good it’s much better. It is saturated with neosporin. I am Waiting for it to soak in and loosen up the feathers so i can get them out. Just don’t want to hurt her more.
I do Not see any other injuries on her. I cleaned her with hibicleanse and Saturated it with neosporin. She
I do Not see any other injuries on her. I cleaned her with hibicleanse and Saturated it with neosporin. She stood up today! Her skin that is peeled back is swollen a little. Think...
I do Need to check her thoroughly. She is a Cochin so she’s super fluffy and it would be easy to miss something. It was a smaller dog. It didn’t have long because our sweet Roo alerted us that something was going on out there. We lost another Cochin. Weird that one had no signs of trauma.
She was in shock but she has been eating and drinking today. Not as much as normal yet though. I put Rooster booster in her water and hand fed her scrambled eggs.
She was attacked Sunday. It looks like it’s just the skin peeled back. She’s been kept inside and I’ve been spraying with Vetericyn a few times a day. She definitely seems more alert today and has been eating and drinking. Anything else I should Be doing??
