Okay I have tuna so I will try that!
The medicated water is Corrid. We started this round a week ago today. The other medication round was about 2- 3 weeks prior to this.
His normal diet is just store bought feed. Usually an all flock or high protein feed with around 10-15% scratch mixed in.
I posted about my rooster last week sometime talking about a possible leg injury. We was weak in one leg and I thought sprain bc he was walking fine but one leg just let out here and there and he stumbled. So I seperated so he can heal.
Well, now he's not able to hold any balance, refuses to...
So I brought one of my pretty boys inside because hes acting as if he has a leg injury. I was scared it could be something else - disease or sickness related - so I wanted to watch him and check him thoroughly. (Currently medicating flock for coccidiosis)
His leg does appear injury related but I...
I've been wondering if someone else who has Wyandottes experienced the same thing. I've thought about starting a thread just to see if there's anyone else. It's boggled my mind a bit.
Did yours do the sneezing too?
I can definitely try.not exactly sure how to do this. Could you point me in the right direction on learning this?
And to answer you on where they came from, it was TSC. I believe their birds are vaccinated. They recieve them from Murray MCmurray hatchery I believe.
I also want to add, this has been going on for a few months now. Seems like every month or so, another one gets it and slowly disintegrates. The first 2 died from.. whatever this is.. and it took a couple weeks to take its toll.
Can sickness or viruses target only ONE breed? Im at a loss with whatever os effecting my flock. My blue laced golden wyandottes have slowly died one by one. They first start to "sneeze" which then turns to a more violent "honk" and they begin to hide and stay away from the flock. They still eat...
Thank you everyone for your input. I am not selling to be my main source of income, rather as it'll be part of the operation. I have a bunch of people wanting meat that is locally raised and humanely raised. Im a big believer and supporter of permaculture so these birds will be raised...
So this year will be the first year I'm wanting to raise birds for their meat. Im not a fan of Cornish X so I've been looking into other types and what they're bred with. I currently have Orpingtons and Wyandotte. The roos i have are mixed breed with the top roo being HUGE and a cross between...
A few weeks back I had one of my new hens start sneezing and LOUD. I contacted a friend who suggested corid, but it did not do any good and she passed. I knew she needed antibiotics but didn't know which ones to look for (off label or over priced on sell sites). This was weeks ago. Now I have...
Oh I guess I do need to update that! I'm located in Kentucky
Thank you! I got some and have been putting it in their water.
Update on him: He is limping a little but his foot is no longer twisted now. I'm not sure if it's a vitamin deficiency or not but starting to think it could be an...
I have looked into this and it states you will mainly see this in broiler birds. These chicks are lavender orpington. Will this still be seen in this type of bird?
Quick update on chick: I've given vitamin water and some direct B12 liquid vitamin to it. It is standing and able to catch up to the chicks and mom. Eating and drinking fine but the leg is still twisted and turned inward. Will update again in a day or two.
