I have two sets of feed and water containers. One has chick food the other has layer. Don't have much in there for hiding...any thoughts what I could put in there?
So I have 4 chicks I got from TSC that are about 6-8 weeks old. They were raised by one of my broody hens who was the dominant hen of my flock of 3 (use to be 6 but they are getting old). They are kept in part of the coop that is divided off from my other two ladies. The other two are able to...
Hello, I have a question.
I have four chicks I got at TSC, I was told that two are Australorp and two are Easter Eggers. The Easter Eggers are getting little Mohawks, is this normal? I hope they aren't males.
Hi, I have a 2 year old Buff Orpington hen. She is my dominant hen and has always been a good layer. For about two weeks though she has been acting different. She stands around hunched up with her head pulled in, walks pretty slowly, has a messy bum (started about 5 days ago)and has stopped...
Hello PA friends! I am kinda new and mostly illiterate on how to use this site/computers lol. I wanted to say hi to my neighbors and ask for some opinions. I have posted this elsewhere but was not sure if everyone sees it or only if they are looking for it. So here is what I posted...

Is there a way to tell if chickens are hens or roos by the way they stand/graze? I have posted pictures before and was told they were to young. My (hopefully all) girls are almost 10 (SLW) and 11 (BO) weeks old now and I still have slight concerns that I may have a few roos. They have not...
They were from a farm store and said to be sexed pullets. Keeping my fingers crossed still that they are both pullets...my kids will be crushed if they are male as we can not keep them. Anyone know when they will attempt crowing if they are males?
Here are some more pics...as far as interaction with others Moana is a little more skittish than the other SLW. Actually seems to be the low chick on the totem pole.
Yes only that one has really red waddles, it is also a bit more skittish and makes a bit of a different chirp sound. That is why I was concerned. I have a SLW in question as well. Kinda sad if they do end up roosters because I am not allowed to have them where I live. Got 6 new chicks this year...
