I have no idea what I'm dealing with.

This is my first flock and therefore my first incident. On Wednesday evening I notice my black australorp pullet was in the coop, not roosting, and she kept nearly falling over. I assumed it was squatting practice as none of my girls are laying yet. Thursday morning she was still doing it and I...

This makes me feel much better! Thank you! I had already bought 4 new chicks yesterday and am up to 18 now after a friend recommended I go ahead and buy replacements. I prefer my BR babies. I suppose I will be selling some EEs soon! lol

I have another in exactly the same color and pattern as the other two that several had said is roo. I was assuming cockerels as I thought a roo would be much lighter than pullets and if this is a roo shouldn't the other two be as well? My boyfriend is going to kill me if he finds out I just got...

I'm back, getting those pictures proved to be quite the chore. I am pretty sure I already know all of my BR are cockerels, I went and bought some EE "pullets" today to replace if so. The guy at the store couldn't believe that I pulled 3 from the cockerels, but I'm a newb and full of false hopes...

So can I safely assume the two others will be as well if their barred coloring is the same as the one with the pink comb? Ah poop. Thank you!

Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

Help please? My barred rocks are about 4 weeks, maybe a bit older. I got them from a local feed store that marketed them as sexed pullets. The store is known for having pretty accurate bins so I felt comfortable because in person they look so dark and I know the males are lighter. But someone...
