    Half-dozen cartons

I used to see 6 egg cartons in the store, though not lately. I'd love to get some as I have some single neighbors who don't use a dozen eggs in a month (imagine!). Haven't found them the couple places I've looked IRL and online, but figured somebody here was sure to have a link! Thanks! Kim

What does the squat and wing spread mean?

Nothing perverted about it, totally normal. It's the natural drive all animals have to procreate. Plus the submission to you is awesome, I wish my hens did that for me, but Col Sanders is a roo, so they're not fooled by me.

    Breakfast issues... suggestions, anyone?

This thread actually finally got me to register! Thanks for some great ideas. I forgot about the egg "muffins" - similar to the recipes they have in the South Beach diet book. You can add spinach, or broccoli, or other veggies if you want. (The scrambled eggs and cheese in muffin cups...

    Greetings from Black Forest, Colorado

I've been lurking for a few months. We got 6 RIR hens (we were told) in late August that were 5 weeks old. One of them seemed different than the others right off the bat and seemed to be in charge so I named her(?) Col Holly Sanders. I'm sure you know where this is going, a few months later...
