    Wyandottes

I seriously can't sex these things. They are supposed to be pullets. They all look the same. Calculating my time frame again they should be approximately 16 to 18 weeks.

    Lost half our flock

You will be the first person that can answer why it no longer produces apples because I even asked a gardener but I assume that maybe she was right when she said she doesn't really handle trees and I definitely didn't Google anything about it because I just moved there last August and was just...

Thanks I'm more concerned about my fifth (4th biological) newborn in September! These chicks are keeping me distracted from my fragile high risk pregnancy woes.

    Lost half our flock

Needless to say we arent going back up to 20 chicks. Were topping out at 15 and our 5 new hens already lay. We are expanding their run and closing in their coop with more nest boxes. Their run will go around our apple tree. Becauee it doesn't produce apples anymore its over 40 years old.

    Lost half our flock

If I'm not mistaken he got her when he was 15 and he is now 30. Shes pretty old. I'm suprised she kept up with the chickens! Theres one other theory that a stray dog got them and she stopped them, but she didn't have any marks. So well never really know.

    Lost half our flock

I would not shoot my fiances childhood dog for attacking my chickens that have only been there since February. I scolded her. Got a stronger lead. And when the chickens are free ranging in the evening from 5 to 8, while we come up with funds for a gated run, she is only allowed out to pee and...

    Lost half our flock

We lost half our flock because my fiance had the bright idea of leaving his dog on her lead while we were gone for 8 hours. I'm still not over it. We got a 350lb lead and new rules. But the tragedy hit me hard. :(
