its sawdust from a dead ash tree. it was cut with a hand saw and not treated in any way. I baked the dust in the oven for 1 hour at 170 to dry it out good. Ill look into making it out of pvc that's a good idea.
I was strictly going to used the sawdust to keep the upright until three days before they hatch. Once they reach the no turn day they would go onto the plastic screen inside the incubator.
