    The only way I can ever tell is when they make that first muffled, broken up, attempt at crowing. After a few days it gets stronger. You may want one roo (why?) but never two.

    coop has three 4' roosts, floor space is approx 6'x3', with four large nestboxes attached. They seem to be doing better -0 the old 3 cackle a lot, and loudly, when the newbies show up, but now, one qweek in, seem more accepting.
