    Rooster. When you cross a barred rock with another breed, the barred offspring are roos and the black offspring (not barred) are females. I have a few roos who look just like this guy

    How are these hatches going? I have one goose eggs pipped right now, hatching with a few duck eggs The other goose eggs weren't fertile

    anyone heard of crock pot incubation?

    Crock pot idea Could you put something (a thick bowl) under the ceramic pot so that it does not touch the heating elements in the crockpot, i.e. so that the ceramic crock pot sits a couple of inches up off the floor of the heating part? Just a thought

    I'm new at this, just had our first hatch The same thing happened to us I set up the brooder and removed the oldest chicks which helped Good luck with the hatch!
