    Duck food

I switched to using Grubby Farms, it's made from black soldier fly grubs and lots of other good stuff. My ducks seem to like it and it is delivered to the house.

Problem with my duck's leg healing

Okay, that is what I thought but didn't want to make a mistake. Thank you so much. I see improvement each day but would like to help her along as much as possible. Being blind in that eye makes her walk a little weird also, she steps out with the bad leg and it's the same side as her blind...

Problem with my duck's leg healing

I understand, but the dose for baby aspirin, do I administer the diluted solution as I would do for Ibuprofen? 2-3 times a day? Or can I just give the entire 250ml of diluted baby aspirin in the water for her to drink?

Problem with my duck's leg healing

Thank you for all of the information. I have DMSO on hand but I am not sure I'd like to use that yet. As for Baby Aspirin, do I just add the dissolved aspirin solution in her drinking water? Then it would be very diluted. I like to treat naturally as much as possible but I do use drugs if...

Problem with my duck's leg healing

Yes, I add yeast to the group food bowl daily and she is getting extra with her peas and grains. I have noticed that the nutritional yeast has been in shortage for some reason, ordering it has been somewhat of an issue since I want to buy it US only and not Chinese. I make sure they get it...

Problem with my duck's leg healing

Okay, thank you so much. I was really worried that it was taking too long to recover. Right now she is out with the others but since it's been raining they are hanging around the puddles and I'm keeping an eye on her. She tends to stand and preen most of the time. I don't want her to overdo...

Problem with my duck's leg healing

Over two weeks ago I put my ducks into their coop and in the morning my runner duck with one blind eye came out crawling and not able to walk. One leg was dragging. I put her into a dog crate and was nursing her with food for a little over 2 weeks and I see huge improvements in the movement of...

    Disinfectant for coop?

Okay, thanks... seems like this is what people are using. I love essential oils just wasn't sure about using them. I do scrub it out daily so it's not that stinky but could smell better.

    Disinfectant for coop?

I use white vinegar on other things in my house but was worried about it seeping into the dirt and it might hurt them if they drink it. I guess if it's diluted enough it will be fine... they all line up along the edge of the coop and wait for the water to run off as I clean. Thanks so much...

    Disinfectant for coop?

I am looking for a save disinfectant that I can clean my duck coop out with. The coop is in my enclosure so the water with the disinfectant will run off into the ground. I'm leary of a lot of products I read that Tractor Supply sells... what are most people using to clean the coops out with...

    Weak leg on Runner

I've been giving them lots of good stuff to eat and hoping she will recover. She hatched with a bad eye which was infected and I used Colloidal Silver 5 times or so a day and she healed up nicely... has done well with her one eye. She's two now.

    Weak leg on Runner

Yes I have been mixing the yeast in with the feed. I have 15 ducks so I do a large batch of food. I have also been chopping up greens and adding the yeast into that for them too. She was walking around and stepped on a rock and her leg went out, so maybe it is a sprain but why does she pant...

    Weak leg on Runner

Any advice would be welcome. I nursed her back to health for about 3 weeks from not being able to walk on both legs to walking fine and then suddenly a week or so later her right leg is weak again and she limps on it but not all the time it seems to be on and off. She also pants while the the...

    *~*Runner Duck Club*~*

Yes, I have 2 Chocolates and one is very speckled with white whereas the other one is not. The speckled one looks like a checkerboard too and they are both 2 years old. I need to get a pic of her. My Swedish Blues did the same thing with white with their molt.

Indian Runner to weak to stand

She has been walking a lot better but I still keep her fenced from the rest so she will rest. Her right foot turns inward and it looks weaker compared to her other leg. I found a better feed for my gang. She has been making great progress.

Indian Runner to weak to stand

I have 3 Cayugas, 3 Crested, 2 Swedish Blues, 2 Swedish Blacks, 3 Chocolate Indian Runners, 2 Fawn & White Indian Runners. I used to have Mallards years ago and I loved them, one actually came inside to live for a while with a diaper. Oh... I wonder what the golden red will turn out to be. I...

Indian Runner to weak to stand

I know what you mean about picky and hoglets. The rest of my gang seem to just follow along if one eats it then the rest follow. I couldn't get her to eat the garlic or pumpkin but the others finished it up. I have a mix of ducks but 5 are runners and none are as picky as her.

Indian Runner to weak to stand

Yes, I grow herbs, including basil and thyme. I gave her oregano, basil and thyme a few days ago but she is very picky and not sure if she ate any of it. I keep trying everything I know to do.

Indian Runner to weak to stand

I've been busy and didn't look at my messages. She is trying to stand up and take steps but can't walk far without sitting down. Today she was preening and taking a bath in the pond like crazy more than she has in a long time. I think she is starting to feel better but I still see her...
