Thank u all soo much for all the help/support! I really appreciate it a lot! this was my first time..I really wasn't prepared..just desperate to save his life! I knew the chances were probably slim only having one egg..and a home made incubator. I can't believe he made it that far...
Hey guys... I have some bad news.. I went to check on the baby this morning and the egg had a crack. When I picked him up.. it broke apart!! Needless to say he didn't make it. I'm absolutely heartbroken! Can I post a sort of graphic picture to maybe find out what happened to him..? Looks like he...
Yes the area under the red x..he has receded a lot where it's not so dark..it's that little v shape of lightness..that's normal when moving into position? Thank u soo much for being so helpful and the quick responses!!!
Ok I read over what u said again..that's good to know..bc I was thinking both pips would b at the same spot. But It was just worrying me that keeping it on one side was making it slide away from the low point of the air cell.
Sorry for being confusing! Lol. I don't really know what I'm talking about. But no..it's the first picture.. the dark area dips down away from the air cell a lot. That is the side that has been facing up since lockdown stage..it used to be fully black all the way to the air cell but has slowly...
I meant after I stopped turning the egg, it gradually went into the position where it is now.like after a couple days it went from being all black to dipping down on that side..where the dark area goes down to a point like that. But i kno it has to move in position to hatch..but it seems like...
The pics are front, side and back view..the first one of the front where the air cell is lower..you can see the dark area moved down some to a point. It just moved like that when I stopped turning..not sure if that is significant..but that's not the aircell itself being that low..just the dark...
Ok that makes me feel so much better!! It is full/dark I can only see in where the dark stops right below the air cell..I've been sticking my nose on it daily..lol no stink so far!! I will stop misting..because I was still doing that. So I guess I will try to be a lil more patient and turn my...
I started incubating may 5th. And to be honest, I don't have an incubator..I wasn't expecting to be fostering the egg and wasn't very prepared so I worked with what I had. I'm just an animal lover and couldn't stand to leave the egg for dead..I created a homemade incubator with a container, heat...
Yes, the air cell does dip down on one side pretty far..as time went on it got further and further down on that one side. I can attempt to take a pic while candling, but I'm not sure how well it will work. No moving around when I do float test..just kinda bobs with the water. After being this...
Not sure about humidity..but it's pretty darn humid in there! It's not a real incubator..just homemade container with heat lamp, and a bowl of water. Along with the water, I've been spritzing the egg with water every few hrs. Sry I don't have as much knowledge I should have..I wasn't prepared or...
Not sure about the breed at all.. the mom was a small dark colored duck..not sure that helps..but she wasn't very colorful..just grayish blackish colored..maybe a mallard?
The eggs were abandoned by mom on the 4th of may..I started incubating on the 5th. Don't have an incubator..but I made a homade one. I've had the temp at about 99* up until day 25.. then lowered to 96* and upped the humidity by adding a bowl of water. I have a forehead scan thermometer and the...
I have been incubating an abandoned duck egg. I'm completely new at this, but I've done hours of research about how to incubate eggs. This website has helped a lot! Up until hatch time my egg has been developing fine. I had two to begin with, but two weeks ago one of them started sweating out a...
