    My chickens whole head was shredded, skull is showing

    My rooster attacked my silkie and did the same thing to it. Skin was peeled back and skull was showing. I cleaned it with sterile water and applied Neosporin ointment. It did heal but it took about two weeks.

    I started with 4 banthams. I bought them at our local feed store so I think they are just normal chickens (lol, I'm sure there is a better term). Now I have added two silkies, a D'Uccle (I think that's correct) and a Seabright. I am embarrassed to say how much I am enjoying them.

    I am letting her out to forage with the others when I am outside so I can watch out for her. All three of my older (just a few weeks older) hens are picking on her. She is moving faster than she was and she isn't staggering as much either so I'm hoping she can start holding her own with them...
