Hello!
I am interested in how you first began your journey into a more self sufficient lifestyle! What are some things that someone could do to become more self sufficient?
Thank you in advance!
Hi!
Does anyone have any tips/products or supplements they use to maintain a happy, healthy looking flock? Also, what is a good feed to use, and if you make your own what is your recipe? Thank you in advance!! ☺
Hello!
Are there any supplements/probiotics I should be giving my pigeons? What have you used?
Another question, do you vaccinate your pigeons/ should I be vaccinating? What vaccinations do you give your pigeons?
☺ Many thanks in advance!
Hello!
I have had pigeons for a few years now, but would like to make some changes to their loft/cleaning routine! How do you keep your loft/pigeons clean and healthy? ☺ Thanks for any help!
Hello Everyone!
I have many pigeons and feel like they are not getting the proper nutrition from the bird seed I am giving them. I am interested in making my own pigeon feed, and have heard of others doing it, would you share any recipes you have used or heard of others using? Thank you!
Hello! I always use vetericyn plus on any wounds, punctures, or skin ailments! It works wonderfully and will fix up just about anything! You can buy it on Amazon or any local feed stores typically☺ Well wishes!
This has happened to me before as well. It seems that giving them calcium(oyster shell) worked! If this happens frequently, it could be another issue, but I would guess they just need a little extra calcium! :)
I have a beautiful Australorp mix hen that one of my hens hatched out. She was perfectly healthy up until about 4 or 5 months of age. She all the sudden would only walk on one foot and the other one she miserably drug behind her. She had always been a more wild hen but suddenly let me hold her...
Yay! Welcome to the wonderful world of chicken raising! It is an adventure indeed! Black Stars are a wonderful breed to have, I have enjoyed them myself.
I usually put some ice cubes where they are sitting..... I had some hens sit on the ice cubes like eggs! That usually keeps them pretty cool.... Otherwise you could use big ice packs and they will crowd around those too! But, if you don't do anything, as long as they have fresh water I am sure...
I would guess Blue Orpington! Its not uncommon for hatcheries to mix a chick of the wrong breed in with another breed.... I call it a little surprise! She looks just like all the Blue Orpingtons I have seen! She is certainly beautiful!!
